Emergency services including helicopter responding to incident in Port Waikato - stuff.co.nz

Emergency services are responding to an incident in Port Waikato where on arrival a patient had been assessed as being in critical condition.

Their condition has since been reported as being serious and an Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said a man in his 70s suffered a “medical event" and was transported to Middlemore Hospital.

A spokesperson for Hato Hone St John said it was notified of an incident on Maunsell Rd, Port Waikato at 4.26pm.

Two helicopters, two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent however one helicopter was stood down.

Hato Hone referred all other queries to police who have been contacted for comment but has since confirmed this is a medical incident and not one for police.
