A man is in a serious condition in Middlemore Hospital after a paragliding crash.
The Auckland Rescue Helicopter was called to the crash about 2pm on Saturday at Karioitahi.
They were sent by the Rescue Coordination Centre when the man in his 40's activated a personal locator beacon after the crash.
He was flown to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
