A man has been seriously injured after being attacked by a bull in a paddock.
Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter were called to Tauhoa at 12.53pm on Sunday to assist a man in his 60s who was attacked by the bull.
Paramedic Rob Gemmell said the patient had been attempting to climb a fence when the bull charged at him from behind.
"He was flicked up into the air and then landed on his head," Gemmell said.
The patient suffered a serious neck injury in the incident and was flown to North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.
Gemmell said the patient didn't seem particuarly shaken by the ordeal.
"He was a pretty tough guy."
