A teenage girl was seriously injured on Saturday after a collision between her quad bike and a cow in South Head in north Auckland.
Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesman Lincoln Davies said the cow had hit the quad bike the girl was driving which caused the bike to roll on top of her.
"The cow also landed on her but she was not trapped," Davies said.
The teenager was flown to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition following the incident.
